Beyond Logos: Building Your Brand as an Insurance Agent

A brand is so much more than a fancy logo and sleek color palette. It’s all these visual elements plus your Brand Values, Brand Story, Value Proposition, Brand Personality, and your Brand Promise. Just as no two leaves are exactly the same, no two people have the same strengths and abilities to serve their unique audiences.

We recently had the pleasure of diving into this topic with Bradley Hamner and Chris Ferretti on the Club Capital Leadership podcast

Club Capital is a financial services firm that serves the tax and back-office needs of insurance agencies around the country. As such, their clients face a myriad of challenges specific to this industry that are not always experienced by other small business owners. One such challenge is centered around logos and branding.

Since agents with State Farm, All-State, or similar large corporations have no flexibility in customizing their logo (see below), it becomes ever-more important for agents to focus on building out strong elements in the other aspects of their brand. For example, if you are an agent who specializes in renters insurance for high-rise apartments in downtown Austin, you must position yourself as an expert in this specific area and embed yourself in this community.

But what if you’re still searching for that special niche that you are uniquely qualified to fill? We created an easy-to-follow, four-step worksheet to help you get really specific about the audience you are serving and the needs you are fulfilling. Download it below to get started on your own!

And as you begin to tackle this project, know that it’s not always easy to answer all these questions alone. In many cases, a brand agency can bring great value by serving as an impartial guide who asks probing questions and makes strategic recommendations based on the successes they have seen in this industry.

Clover Collective has performed numerous branding projects over the years and would love to help you build out your insurance agency brand. Check out our branding services and get in touch with us at info@clovercollective.com to partner with our experienced brand architects.
